Jamaican beef patties

                 I’m a big foodie, but I can’t always get to my favorite restaurants to get my favorite things to eat. So a lot of the times I like to make them at home. Now my grandfather on my mother’s side is Jamaican and ever since I can remember I’ve loved Jamaican food. My favorite Jamaican dish or treat would be the Jamaican beef patty. The Jamaican beef patty is dough filled with meat. It’s traditionally made with beef. You can always change it up and use chicken, you can also do vegetables. today I’m going to share my recipe for the Jamaican beef patty.

Dough
2 1/2 cups of flour
2 tbsp curry powder
Stir in bowl
Add a stick and 1/2 of butter
You can pulse in food processor or combine with hand
Add 1 tbsp of white vinegar
Half cup of ice water
Let chill for at least 20 minutes

Filling
1 pound of ground beef
Tyme
Cumin- measure according to spice level
Curry powder- measure according to spice level
1 tbsp Caribbean allspice
2 tsp Salt
1 tsp Pepper
Minced onions
Minced garlic

Optional ingredients
breadcrumbs for stretching
Mozzarella cheese
